Construction
The base of this model consists of a layer of plates, which are not at the same height. If you want to build it flat on the table, you have to temporarily put a few bricks underneath at the back. Since the SU-100 has a lot of interior, only 2 outer walls are built. For more stability, there is a bridge in the middle. After the sides have been widened with plates, the upper part of the rear is built. The lower area comes later, after the large engine has been built in several parts and installed. The front area is equipped with plenty of shells. The entire device for the cannon is built separately and can only be moved in height.
In the next steps we build the frame of the casemate and its cover including hatches. Only now are the tracks built. If you use the specified number of tracks, it is very tight. One more track allows it to roll well even on smooth surfaces. Finally, we build the engine, which consists of many small details and is not overly stable. Of course, it also gets a cover. Like all the other covers, this one is only attached to 2 studs. This means the interior can be reached quickly.
Conclusion:
When Panlos builds a military model, it is usually good and closely based on the original. This is different from some RC models that can really only be described as toys. In contrast to some other Panlos models, this one is quite stable. If you really want to play, you can remove the built motor in the rear and insert real motors and batteries. The description for this can be found in the instructions, and the necessary parts, apart from the motors, are already included.
