COBI has already made several impressive achievements with the Yamato, so the MISINI Yamato has to be compared to a larger-scale model. We’ll take a closer look at the differences.

Visually, the model immediately distinguishes itself from the COBI model due to its more vibrant colors. It is also about 10 cm shorter, even though it is also supposed to be in 1:300 scale. The entire interior is virtually hollow. Nevertheless, the model is very stable. The next major difference from the COBI model is the entire hull side paneling. Instead of individual, stud-heavy segments, tiles ensure smooth sides. The small anti-aircraft guns are only partially realized using molded parts. The rest is built entirely with interlocking bricks. Since the set does not contain any printed parts, stickers must be applied. However, the quantity is limited, and transfer stickers are used, which give more of a printed impression.
The deck superstructure is somewhat more rudimentary than in the COBI model. However, the numerous antenna cables that connect to the masts have been considered. Overall, the model makes a solid impression, even if it doesn’t quite match the COBI aesthetic. But you’re paying less than half the price, which might give some people pause.
Overall, I’m happy with the model. It’s sturdy, easy to build, and the bricks are of excellent quality.
