Even though both sets have a different scale, they fit together very well. Due to the small number of parts I have summarized them in a video.
U-Boat XXVII Seehund
Instructions
Construction
The entire body is built in a few steps. As with the larger submarines, brackets and pins are also used here. The side extensions are then attached to these. Instead of a ship’s propeller, a Rounded Plate is used here, on which a screw was quickly printed.
The two torpedoes on the sides then provide some color variety. The only thing missing is a tiny base, which is quickly built from a few plates and bricks.
Conclusion:
The little seal is very quickly assembled with its 181 components. Even if the 1:72 scale does not match the rest of the submarines, the model looks very good next to the 1:144 scale submarines.
U-Boot U-96 Typ VIIC
Instructions
Construction
The structure is roughly similar to the structure of the large ships. There the bow is started in the middle and then covered to the outside. The same principle is also used in this boat. After both sides have been completed, the bow is built separately and the propellers are attached to the stern.
Only a few details are attached to the top. COBI has already pre-assembled the transparent parts. They were probably afraid that the small parts in the bags would be overlooked and that there would be a lot of requests for spare parts. The stand is the same as that used on the U-47.
Conclusion:
The U-96 is almost identical to the U-47. Only the deck has a different color and the stern is a bit shorter. To be honest, I can’t really get much out of this benchmark. It’s way too small for me and doesn’t show enough details.
