Construction
Even a large ship starts small. First the bow is built, and again a lot of brackets and other bricks are used to reverse the direction of construction. This means that the entire visible area is almost stud-free. After the bow and stern are finished, they are joined together and the middle part of the hull is built. Now you can admire the full size of the ship for the first time. Brackets and tiles don’t really fit together well with COBI and you need strength to connect them. Ultimately, however, that is exactly what makes this battleship so extremely stable.
For the middle section, 2 large side parts are built separately and we can finally turn our attention to the deck superstructure. Countless guns are placed there. Some areas remain free and will be built later depending on the desired model. However, the 3 main guns must be built first. The individual models of the IOWA-CLASS only differ in a few areas. Firstly, the corresponding numbers must be placed on the bow and stern. Secondly, the main guns have minimal differences. Some adjustments are not necessary for all models. In the video you can see exactly where the adjustments need to be made. Of course, there are also the appropriate type plates for the base.
Conclusion:
In direct comparison with the predecessor, the color is immediately noticeable. Instead of a light deck, dark gray tiles are now used. The deck and its details also look much better. The only surprising thing is that the predecessor is around 1cm longer. The price is quite high, but you get a solid, stylish model that looks great in a display case or on a shelf. Provided you can find enough space for this large ship.
