COBI 2627 – Challenger 2 (Speed Build Review)

Construction

The initial construction does not differ too much from the predecessor, as the Challenger does not have an interior in this new version either. However, there is a built-in engine in the rear instead of the molded part in the old version. The framework made of plates and tiles is comparable to most other current tank models from COBI. The tracks have shrunk a little, however. A smaller version is used here than in the predecessor. Nevertheless, they run smoothly, even on smooth surfaces.

The turret is quite large and requires a lot of building blocks. The gun barrel is a molded part, as was the case with the predecessor. However, it is not the same molded part. It has slight differences. Both the original British and the Ukrainian insignia can be used as national emblems. These are of course all printed.

Conclusion:

The Challenger 2 is a solid but not very spectacular model. In contrast to its predecessor, COBI has incorporated more details here. If you collect modern battle tanks, this one is definitely one of them.
