COBI hasn’t had a Panther for quite a while, apart from the 1:48 models. Now it’s that time again and the Limited Edition comes with an 8cm PAW 600.

Construction
For the new Panther, COBI once again gave us a large 8×16 plate, which quickly gives us a stable base. With several layers of bricks we quickly get height and can then build the side armor in separate steps. We also get a little inner workings. In 2 compartments we put a total of 4 grenades. The engine is completely built and also gets some printed parts. However, the red hose that is to be routed around the engine causes some problems. It’s too short and doesn’t last. You have to stretch it very carefully so that it just fits.
The interior is now complete and the hull can be tiled. The front and rear are again built separately and then attached at the right angle using hinges. The tracks once again run absolutely perfectly. Without any pressure, they work perfectly even on smooth surfaces.
In version G, the Panther has side skirts, mostly made of tiles and each attached via 3 hinges. Then we can devote ourselves to the turret, which initially consists of a lot of reversal of the building direction. The lateral armor is then attached to this. With the decoration, COBI is taking a different approach to fastening this time. It is fixed by a hose.
At this point we can build one of the 5 figures. This completes the standard edition. Build Stage 4 includes all the additional parts of the Limited Edition. This includes 4 more figures, the laser-engraved type plate and of course the anti-tank launcher, which can be built in just a few steps. This can be attached to the tank via a rather shaky construction.
Conclusion:
We had to wait a long time for a new Panther and the new version is impressive. In the usual quality we get a very nice model. I would have liked a different color or camouflage pattern though. I like the desert color less. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether the surcharge for the Limited Edition for the gun and a certificate is worth it.
