Construction

First, we build a very slim body to which fenders made of various molded parts are attached. At this point, the driver is already built and used. However, this only fits without the hat, which is only in the bags from the 2nd construction section anyway. Without a seat, the figure cannot be attached and more or less flies around in the cockpit. The front gets a massive engine block with a grille and the rear is tiled. Since the vehicle has twin tires at the rear, 11 wheels have to be built.

Now it’s time for the launcher. This consists of a very simple construction of plates and tiles. The 14 rockets are built from 3 parts each and then attached. The linkage used to hold and move the launcher is a bit of fiddly work. But once it’s in the right position, it’s quite stable. The launcher can thus be adjusted in the firing angle. Finally, a second minifigure is built and the driver also gets his little boat.

Conclusion:

Basically, this vehicle is quite unspectacular and maybe looks a little more like a toy than a collector’s item. But it is still a beautiful and above all true to the original model of Katyusha.
