Xingbao XB-06045 – FlakPz GEPARD (Speed Build Review)

Change language to: de_DE Deutsch

The Gepard is another beautiful model from the Bundeswehr series, even if it has already been officially decommissioned. In some places, however, the structure becomes an ordeal.

Construction

The construction begins with the interior design, in which numerous printed parts are used. Brick walls are being built all around, as one is used to from buildings. The rollers are a bit more fiddly. These are first built from Technic parts and then attached to the hull with a rubber band. This suspension not only works very well, it is also very stable. It then continues with the construction of the hull and final tiles.

The construction of the turret occupies a large part of the entire structure. All relevant attachments of the original can also be found on the model without making it unstable. The entire structure was quite simple so far and the components were of good quality. What is really frustrating is the end with the construction of the side skirt. Attaching to the hull is a pain. There is no space to press it down. Ultimately, I had to put each part individually on the hull and you can completely save yourself the previous construction of the side skirts.

Conclusion:

The Gepard is much more stable than expected and the assembly was quite easy and fun. At least until it was the side skirts’ turn. I would have liked to throw the model against the wall at one point or another.
