Construction
With such a small model, the hull is of course finished with just a few plates. Plenty of mounts for the rollers are placed between the individual layers. However, the side parts are a bit sensitive. They are attached from below and have to be built over later. As a result, it has to be countered again and again from below so that they don’t fall off. With a few slopes, the typical shape of the Sherman is created quite quickly.
For the casters, 12 wheels need to be built and 4 gears attached. Then the chains can be pulled up. As with almost all Sherman tanks, these do not work at all on smooth surfaces. However, if you push the model on a sheet of paper or a carpet, they work perfectly. The basic framework for the turret is now being built. In contrast to almost all other models, however, this one is not only finished. The blank is placed directly on the hull and then complemented with the side armor and the gun barrel.
Finally, a few small details and a machine gun are attached and the little Easy Eight is ready.
Conclusion:
Of course you don’t have too much building fun with the 1:48 models. The 320 parts of the Sherman are quickly installed. The result can be seen. For a tank made of bricks, the shape is really good and the model looks good on the shelf or on the desk.
