COBI 3011 World of Tanks Matilda II – Speed Build Review

Change language to: de_DE Deutsch

In Africa this tank was used successfully, at least in the early days. With the Afrika Korps as an opponent, however, this changed quickly, which can be seen in the damage to the model.

Instructions

The entire building fun is divided into 2 construction phases with a total of 77 construction steps. Since this is an older set that is no longer in production, there is no parts list in this issue. Stickers jump straight at us for this. Otherwise everything is as usual. Old construction steps are grayed out and new ones are colored.

Construction

The beginning of this construction project is somewhat reminiscent of a sandwich. 16 modified plates, which are used to accommodate the rollers, are enclosed by two 8×16 plates. This is followed by a construction with bricks, which quickly brings height. The entire front is built separately in one piece.

The next few steps will be used for side armor. Both are built separately, placed on the hull and then folded down. After the hull has been almost completely tiled, it is the turn of the rear, which, like the front, is built in one piece and then attached.

Next, 32 rollers are attached. Of course, we are not spared connecting tracks here either. The tracks do not run particularly well. The individual tracks get caught again and again and cause the tracks to stall. The studs of the previously built front are next covered with tiles. 2 hoses are used as decoration.

Now it is the turn of the turret. Thanks to the large molded parts, it can be built very quickly. A lot of decoration is also used for an older model. The final steps consist of reserve tanks at the rear and the minifigure.

Conclusion:

This tank is probably not very well known, like the Tiger, for example. Apart from the out-of-round tracks, it’s a very nice, detailed model.
